Welcome to the Website of the Beloved Disciple Community
Baltimore, Maryland
An oasis of peace and spirituality.

Very Rev. Theodore Feldmann, Pastor

Beloved Disciple Community is ecumenical in that we welcome everyone, believing that each person is an original blessing to the world.  You do not have to leave either your brain or your heart at the door:  We welcome those who question, who seek, and who have been rejected elsewhere.

We are a small faith community in the free catholic / emergent church movement.

We come together to celebrate an ancient liturgy, updated to reflect our 21st century world and its concerns:

* to pray
* to be silent
* to listen
* to sing
* to nurture community

In a busy, often frantic culture, we believe that our liturgy provides a spiritual oasis:

* There is time for meditation and silence.
* We sing in a variety of styles from hymns and songs to Taize and Gregorian chants.
* We hear readings from scripture as well as from the great mystics and prophets of every age.
* We strive to provide thought-provoking homilies that respect inclusiveness, justice, and a spirituality that leads to greater health and wholeness.
